Owner/Stylist
George Escobedo
George has been in the hair industry for over 31 years. In that time, he has garnered a wealth of experience and expertise in color, cut, perm and straightening techniques. He has been a Goldwell color technician and attended Vidal Sassoon cutting and color classes as well as Tony & Guy cutting classes. George is currently obtaining his certification with L'Oreal in Balayage and foiling. Inspired by trips to the salon with his mother, George enjoyed the creativity and artistry involved with being a stylist. He enjoys helping his clients create a new style of persona making people happy! George finds satisfaction seeing clients walk out of the door to finish their day with a big smile and a feeling of well being.
Stylist
Sophia Poole
Sophia got her start at an early age by going to the salon with her grandmother. Looking for a way to express her creativity, she decided to pursue a career in hair and beauty.
Sophia began at Billy The Kid in March 2017 and will celebrate 10 years behind the chair in March 2027. She is a young, creative stylist who is always eager to learn new techniques. As a native New Mexican, she takes great pride in helping the people of Las Cruces look and feel their best.
Sophia trained through Vidal Sassoon in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, specializing in cutting and coloring techniques. She also attended the Sassoon Academy at Buckingham Gate in London, where she earned a certificate in the Salon Intensive Course.
To Sophia, every head of hair is a blank canvas ready to be sculpted!
Nail Technician
Roberta O'Brien
Roberta O’Brien has been in the industry for over 30 years.
Roberta worked with OPI for 20 years providing education to other technicians, and being a guest artist at trade shows, had her own salon, spa and boutique inside the Ramada for over 11 years.
Roberta truly believes in the integrity of your natural nails, therefore, providing several services for both hands and feet.
Roberta is proficient in Gel X, Gel enhancement, Pink and Whites, Acrylics, provides nail art, and provides a deep smile line on your French manicures.
Sanitation and disinfection is of the upmost importance when Roberta is working with all of her clients.

Charman Lopez
Atter getting her own nails done for a couple of years, Charman loved the hands-on experience and decided to pursue a career in the nail industry. She specializes in all areas and does several types of nail applications including silk, gel and acrylic nails as well as spa pedicures.

Charman has been in the industry for 21 years and is inspired making people feel better about themselves and to see them so happy for the first time is a wonderful feeling. Charman loves doing this because she enjoys the time and bond she makes with her clients, some of which develop into close friendships.

Rachel Schoonover
Rachel has been working in the beauty industry for 20 years and has always known this is the area she wanted to be in. She loves connecting with her clients and making them feel and look beautiful. Her area of expertise is in cut and color.

Jay Carlson
With over 25 years of experience behind the chair, Jay Carlson brings a passion for personalized style, expert color, and precision cutting for both women and men. His career has taken him from advanced education and salon work in Chicago and Denver to serving clients in Las Cruces, where he continues to combine creativity with technical excellence.
Jay has trained extensively with leading professional brands including Eufora and L’ANZA, staying at the forefront of modern color techniques, haircutting, and industry trends. Known for his attention to detail and commitment to helping clients look and feel their best, he believes great hair should reflect both individuality and lifestyle.
Whether creating dimensional color, refreshing a signature look, or designing a complete transformation, Jay's goal is to provide every client with exceptional results and a welcoming salon experience.

Christina Jacquez
Christina Jacquez was born and raised in the farming community of Las Cruces, New Mexico, where strong family values, hard work, and a deep sense of community were instilled from an early age. With more than 31 years of experience in the beauty industry, Christina has built a reputation for delivering exceptional hair services while creating a welcoming and comfortable experience for every client.
She specializes in precision haircuts, customized color services, lightening techniques, Brazilian Blowouts, and children’s haircuts. Christina has received extensive training in color and lightening through Schwarzkopf Professional and has earned multiple certifications in Brazilian Blowout treatments. She is a strong advocate for continuing education and believes that staying current with the latest techniques and industry trends allows her to provide the highest level of service to her clients.
Known for her warm personality and genuine care for others, Christina values the relationships she builds with her clients and strives to ensure that everyone who sits in her chair feels comfortable, valued, and safe. Outside the salon, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and cherishes the sense of connection and community that has always been central to her life.
